Panchakarma is much more than a spa treatment or a short detox programme. It is a systematic Ayurvedic cleansing and rejuvenation process that requires sufficient time for the body to prepare, eliminate toxins and restore balance. A minimum of 14 days is generally recommended because:
Purvakarma
Before the main detoxification procedures, the body undergoes internal and external oleation (snehana) and therapeutic sweating (swedana). These therapies help loosen and mobilise accumulated toxins from deep tissues into the digestive tract for elimination.
Pradhana Karma
The core Panchakarma procedures — such as Vamana (therapeutic emesis), Virechana (therapeutic purgation), Vasti (different kinds of enema), Nasya or other treatments — are selected according to your body constitution (Prakruthi) and health condition. These therapies require adequate time to achieve optimal cleansing and therapeutic benefits.
Paschat Karma
After detoxification, the body needs time to regain strength, stabilise digestion and absorb the benefits of treatment through specialised diets, medicines and rejuvenative therapies.
Each person's response to treatment is unique. Daily medical supervision allows doctors to monitor progress, make adjustments and ensure the therapies are both safe and effective.
A short stay may provide relaxation, but a 14-day or longer Panchakarma programme allows for deeper cleansing and more sustainable improvements in overall health, energy levels, digestion, immunity and chronic health conditions.

The doctor recommends the length after your consultation.

Not every visit calls for Panchakarma. For guests with less time, Aptaveda also offers 3, 5 and 7-day rejuvenation, relaxation and stress-management packages, planned after consultation.
Tell us about your health history, concerns and goals. A doctor will advise whether Panchakarma suits you and how long your programme should be.
